Why are Pope Benedict’s remarks about Islam ‘Derogatory’?

…..To an outsider it would seem that Pope has now jumped onto the Islam bashing bandwagon and has lent his support to the destructive idea of clash of ‘ideologies’ or ‘civilisations’. I am afraid that Pope has done un-repairable damage to the cause of interfaith harmony. Whether the apology offered by Vatican will be enough to convince the Muslim world otherwise remains to be seen.

Blair: ‘God will be my judge on Iraq’

Tony Blair has proclaimed that God will judge whether he was right to send British troops to Iraq, echoing statements from his ally George Bush…..As well as invoking God as the final judge of the Iraq war, Mr Blair also explained how his religious and political beliefs came to him simultaneously…..He agreed that his politics could be described as Christian “in terms of the values and the philosophy”. He also confirmed that religion illuminates his politics…..There have been persistent reports that Mr Blair joined the President in prayer for God’s guidance at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, in 2002, at the summit at which many people believe a secret decision was reached to invade Iraq…..

The Brutal Christ of the Armageddonites

Religious fanaticism in American foreign policy.

A major reason the Armageddonites have become so powerful is that most journalists can’t comprehend that millions of Americans could really want, in this day and age, their God to destroy most of the human race, much less that they are donating millions to promote it (subsidizing settlements on the West Bank and paying for Russian Jews to immigrate to Israel in order to fulfill prophecies faster). Nor do most Americans know that Armageddonites are in the highest levels of government. But it was erstwhile House Majority Leader Tom DeLay who argued that the Iraq war should be supported because it is a precursor to the second coming of Christ…..

Robertson’s supporters are the single largest block of pro-Bush supporters and a core constituency for the war in Iraq. Nine out of 10 evangelicals voted for Bush….. The Coalition has largely intimidated the weak-kneed U.S. Congress. Christian fundamentalists now control a third of all national Republican state committee posts, and 41 of 51 Republican senators received a 100% approval rating from the Coalition…..
